The long-going protests are now more likely to end up with “ Bhansali ‘s Padmavati changed to Padmavat ” by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC – Censor Board), reports said later on 28th of December. CBFC passed the film with a UA Certificate.
As per the release that came from the CBFC itself, the board called up its examining committee on 28th and mutually agreed upon giving the film a UA Certificate and has also suggested Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the Director of Padmavati, to change the title to Padmavat. Some modifications are also incorporated as to ensure that no further queries can turn into a spark like the past.

Bhansali recently said that his lavishly mounted film is based on the 16th-century epic poem called “Padmavat”, written by Malik Muhammad Jayasi.
All about changing Padmavati to Padmavat
The meeting had the CBFC Chairman Prasoon Joshi and some famous censor board officials. The regular examining committee members assisted them in the overall analysis and for suggesting the changes. Moreover, the Bhansali has been told that the disclaimer should have a notice for not glorifying Sati in any form. Moreover, the song “Ghoomar” should also befit the character portrayed, the board suggested. The board undoubtedly followed a balanced approach keeping both, the society and the filmmakers in mind.
Who were there in the Examining Panel?
The panel had Dr. Chandramani Singh, Professor KK Singh from the Jaipur University and Arvind Singh from Udaipur. Their presence was decided after a request was made to the CBFC from the Bhansali Productions itself. The letter urged the board to include a panel of historians/academicians and some members of the Rajput community to examine the film with the board.
Padmavat in 3D?
Yes, you’ll definitely see Padmavat in 3D. When? Nobody knows. However, filmmakers have given a separate application for this. The Censor Board has also handled the details regarding modifications to Viacom and Bhansali.
The film will finally be certified once the director sets all the modifications right, in the movie.
The film faced criticism after the Rajput groups united against Padmavati for distorting history which was repeatedly denied by the director. Looking into the situation, CBFC decided not to release it.
